Pratt, Edwin John Dove "E. J." : 1883-1964

Edwin J. Pratt (1883-1964)
Canadian poet and educator, born at Western Bay, Newfoundland.  After graduation from the University of Toronto, he became a teacher of literature there.  Beginning with Newfoundland Verse, 1927, he has published numerous volumes of poetry, of which Behind the Log is an outstanding example.  He has also edited the Canadian Poetry Magazine.
