Commissioned 2nd Lieutenant 10th Infantry, June 13, 1883; 1st lieutenant, Aug. 21, 1888; captain assistant quartermaster, Apr. 25, 1895; major quartermaster volunteers, Feb. 15, 1900; honorably discharged from volunteers, May 1, 1901; major quartermaster U.S.A., Oct. 26, 1901; lieutenant colonel deputy quartermaster general, Mar. 19, 1908; colonel assistant quartermaster general, Mar. 3, 1911; brigadier general, Feb. 19, 1919.

In charge of construction of N.A. cantonments and national guard camps, 1917; secretary and treasurer of U.S. Soldier's Home, Washington, resigned 1922.  Member Delta Tau Delta.
