September 6, 1888, 7th District, Camden Mine, Allegheny County.
Killed by a fall of slate.  His father was working in a room nearby and said that he went back and forth often to see that his boy was safe and to assist him to set and remove his props.  Further comment is unnecessary, as it is evident to all thinking people, that a boy of such tender years should not have been allowed to mine in a place by himself.  Age 15.
