White, Rachael - 1898

Mrs. Rachael White

Mrs. Rachael White, widow of Charles White, late of Canoe township, Indiana county, died last Wednesday morning, January 19, aged seventy-eight years.  Her husband died two years ago.  The old couple had lived on the farm where they died for sixty years during all of which time they were active members of the C. P. church.  Mrs. White was a fine old lady, and had hosts of friends by whom she will be sorely missed.  Her remains were laid to rest in the cemetery at Covode, on Friday, Rev. T. M. Hartman officiating.

Rinn, Samuel A - 1898

A Fine Residence
Superintendent S. A. Rinn, of Walston and Adrian, has moved into his new house on West Mahoning street.  It is one of the finest and most commodious dwellings in this part of the State.  It contains twelve rooms beside a well finished attic and basement.  The elegantly carved mantels, the beautifully polished woodwork and mosaic floors, make a very artistic interior.  The house is equipped with all modern conveniences, including a fine conservatory.  It is built of buff brick, and is surrounded by beautiful grounds.  The house is an ornament to the town, and is certainly a very comfortable place in which to reside.

Zeitler, Jacob - 1898

Jacob Zeitler, of this place, has an interesting coin.  It is an American silver dollar, coined in 1798, and is not a particle worn.  It looks as though it might have come from the mint last year.  Mr. Zeitler says he has had the coin twenty five years, and wants to keep it fifty years longer.
