White, Ralph Wittemore : 1892-1943

Ralph Wittemore White died November 23, 1943, at Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts.  The son of Loring Quincy and Edith (Whittemore) White, he was born April 21, 1892, in Montello, Massachusetts.  

He prepared at Noble and Greenough School and spent a year with our Class.  After leaving collge he entered his father's business, the L. Q. White Shoe Company at Bridgewater, Massachusetts, where he was assistant treasurer and general manager until the time of his retirement in 1935.  During the War the company manufactured shoes for the government and also for the Russian, Belgian and Italian armies.  

He was survived by his wife, the former Geraldine Banks Chaney; by three children:  Virginia Whittemore (Mrs. Clark Dexter), Ralph Whittemore, Jr., and Loring Chaney; and two grandchildren.
