George A. Fleckenstein, resident of Oakland, died on Friday at the home of his nephew Bernard J. Carlin of Oakland after a lingering illness. He was born at Elk River on February 14, 1880, and had worked in Humboldt county as a woodsman for many years. He was the husband of the late Ellen McDonough Fleckenstein.
He leaves his sons, Allen Fleckenstein of Oakland and Donald Fleckenstein of Philadelphia, Pa., a sister, Mrs. George W. Holmes of Brownsville, Ore.; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be said on Sunday evening at the Moss-Wood Chapel in Oakland. The funeral will be from there on Monday to Sacred Heart church, where requiem mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s cemetery, Oakland.
