Joseph E. Bright, 63, of Leithsville, died Sunday morning in St. Luke's hospital from a fractured skull received on Saturday night when he was struck by an automobile driven by Waze Wilson De Roach, 2407 Hayes St., Easton.

With Charles Dorney of Middletown, Bright was walking towards Freemansburg on the Freemansburg-Easton road at 8 p.m., Saturday with their backs toward traffic. Bright was struck by the car which was going west at the time.

Dorney was in front of Bright and did not see the accident, according to patrolman T.P. Cahalan of the Bethlehem sub-station of the State Highway patrol, who investigated the accident.  The right front fender and hinge of the door of the car struck Bright. He was removed to the hospital in the ambulance and died at 1:21 a.m.

For the past 36 years he had been in the employ of the Bethlehem Steel Company.

His wife preceded him in death two years ago.

Undertaker Marvin M. Steyers, of Bethlehem, removed the body to the late home where services will be held Wednesday at 3.30 p.m., followed by additional services at 2 p.m. in Ebenezer New Reformed church of Bingen.  Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
