Veteran Railroader dies of Paralysis.
John Bright a veteran railroader, died Saturday at 6.35 P.M. in the Allentown hospital, aged 74 years. Mr. Bright had been admitted to the hospital five weeks ago following a stroke of paralysis.
Mr. Bright was born in Reading, the son of Aaron Bright, but he lived in Allentown most of his life having come here about 50 years ago. For almost that entire period the deceased was employed by the Reading Railroad company as a passenger conductor on the Allentown-Harrisburg route. He retired four years ago last March on his seventieth birthday.
He was a prominent member of the Veteran Employees association of the Reading company and was affiliated also with the P.O.S. of A. and the Knights of Malta of this city.
Mr. Bright's wife, Sarah, nee Smith, passed away three years prior to his demise.
He is survived by three sons; Frederick A. Bright, of 238 Margaret street, Brookdale near Allentown, with whom he resided, Wallace J. Bright. of Philadelphia, and Raymond H. Bright, of this city. Three grandchildren also survive, as does a sister, Mrs. Edwin Grove, of Winchester, Virginia, and a half-brother, Edward Bright, who also lives in Virginia.
