Truly, James B. - 1831

WAS committed to the Jail of Jefferson county, on the 7th inst. TWO NEGRO GIRLS named Polly and Sophia.

POLLY is about 16b years of age, 5 feet 5 ½ inches high, thick set, and somewhat scared on her shoulders with the whip.

SOPHIA is about 18 years of age, about 5 feet six inches high, black complexion, and slim in her make.

Both say the belong to a Mr. James Huie, a negro trader from South Carolina, and ran away from him at New Orleans, where said Huie took them with other negroes for sale.

The owner of the above described negroes is requested to comply with the law, and take them out of Jail.
