Committed Suicide.
Mrs. Mattie E. Copeland Pierce, a former resident of Greensburg, committed suicide, Wednesday night, in New York city, where had <sic> been living recently. Deceased also formerly resided in Irwin and Pittsburg.
She was married to Frank Copeland, of Irwin, but they had not been living together for some years. Lately she had been conducting a real estate and insurance office at Greensburg and elsewhere and was engaged in that business in New York.
She ended her career by inhaling gas through a rubber tube, and left the following note lying on a table in her room: “I cannot endure these headaches any longer. I hope I shall be forgiven. Please have my body cremated.”
Deceased was aged about 40 years and belonged to a wealthy and refined family.
