Montague, Lee, Miner.
February 28, 1889, 7th District, Laurel Hill No. 1 Colliery, Allegheny County.
Died from the effects of a broken leg four days after the accident. So far as outward appearances indicated he did not seem to be seriously injured other than a broken leg, but at the time his leg was set he fell into a sound sleep and remained in that state until he died ninety-six hours afterward. Age 30. Marital status unknown.

These two men were brothers and were working in the same room. They had fired a shot in the coal and were taking out a leg or stump, which was left under the coal to hold it up for safety while mining, and there was a small clay slip running along the top, and this, with the coal being broken by the shot that was previously fired, caused it to fall suddenly and instantly killed the two men.
