Griffin, P. B. - 1833

THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI,
Claiborne County.
By the Board of County Police, May Term, 1833.
THE board proceeded to lay off County of Claiborne into five Districts, as follows, to wit:
District No. 1.  Beginning at the point where the Jefferson line comes to the Mississippi River, thence up said river to the mouth of Bayou Pierre, thence up the Bayou Pierre to the Northern Line of the Town of Port-Gibson, thence South-westward by said town line to the Greenville Road, then along said road to the Jefferson line, thence by said Jefferson line to the beginning including the Greenville Road.

District No. 2.  Beginning at the mouth of Bayou Pierre, thence up the Mississippi river to the Warren Line, thence with said line till it intersects the Big Black, thence up Big Black to Hankinson's Ferry; thence by the Road to the Grindstone Ford; thence down the Bayou Pierre to the beginning, including the Warrenton and Grindstone Ford Road.

District No. 3.  Beginning at Hankinson's Ferry, thence up the Big Black to the old Chocktaw line, thence by said line, binding on Hinds and Copiah counties, to the Bayou Pierre, thence down Bayou Pierre to Grindstone Ford; thence by the Warrenton Road to Hankinson's Ferry.

No. 4.  Beginning at the mouth of little Bayou Pierre, thence up it to the Town line, thence by said line, to the said Creek, thence by the said Creek to the Road leading from Port-Gibson by Mrs. Barnes, to P. B. Griffin's Store, thence by said Road to the Copiah county line, thence by the Copiah line to Big Bayou Pierre, thence down Big Bayou Pierre to the junction of the Two bayou Pierre's including Griffin's Store Road.

No. 5  Beginning at the point where the Griffin's Store Road crosses the Copiah county line, thence by the line of Copiah county to the Jefferson county line, thence by the Jefferson line to the Greenville Road, to the South line of Port-Gibson, thence by said Town line West and North across Bayou Pierre to where said Town line crosses it on the east line, thence up Bayou Pierre to where the Road from Port-Gibson to Griffin's Store crosses said creek, thence up said Road to Copiah county line.
