Stray Horses.
CAME to the Plantation of George Weight, Warriormark township; Huntingdon County, on the 7th of January last, a DARK BAY HORSE, 6 of 7 years old, fourteen hands high, has a few white hairs in his forehead, and 4 white spots on his rump.  He is a natural trotter, had no shoes on, and appeared to have lately underwent casteration <sic>.

ALSO,
One other DARK BAY HORSE taken up by Daniel Swartz, on the 27th of December last, on the top of Alleghany Mountain, near the Laurel run gap, thirteen and a half hands high, his age not known, a natural trotter, has a star, both hind feet white, and shod all round.

The owner or owners, by proving property, paying charges &c. can get them on application to the subscriber, living in Sinking Valley.

WHEREAS the honorable Jonathan Walker, Esq. President of the several Courts of common pleas, in the counties composing the fourth district, and Justice of the courts of Oyer and Terminer, and General Jail Delivery, for the trial of all capital and other offenders in the said district ; and David Stewart; Benjamin Elliott, and William Steel Esquires, judges of the courts of common pleas and justices of the courts of Oyer and Terminer, and General Jail Delivery, for the trial of all capital and other offenders in the county of Huntingdon ; having issued their precept, dated the 1st inst. to me directed, at the Court House in the borough of Huntingdon, on Monday the 13th day of April next.

Notice is hereby given to all the justices of the Peace, the coroner and constables, within the said county of Huntingdon, that they be then and there, in their own proper persons, with their Rolls, Records, Inquisitions, examinations, and other Remembrances, to do those things which to their Offices, in that behalf appertain to be done ; and also they who will prosecute against the prisoners that are or then shall be in jail of the said county of Huntingdon, are to be then and there to prosecute against them as shall be just.
Dated at Huntingdon, the 15th day of March, 1807.

Advertisement.
By virtue of sundry writs of Venditioni Exponas, issued out of the court of common pleas of Huntingdon County, and to me directed, will be exposed to public sale at the court house in the Borough of Huntingdon on the second Monday of April next, at nine o'clock in the forenoon of that day and continue until the whole be sold, he following property, viz :

A House and part of a Lot in the town of Huntingdon, at the easterly end of Water street, and adjoining a house and lot of Alexander Dean ; also a part of a lot of ground at the easterly end of Water street in the town of Huntingdon, adjoining a house and part of a lot, late the property of William Allen Thompson, Deceased.  Seized and taken in execution and to be sold as the property of the said William A. Thompson, deceased.

Also a Tract of Land in Huntingdon township, joining lands of William Wilson, and others on the Juniata, containing seventeen acres more or less.  Also a lot of ground on the same side of the street and near to Andrew McGees, in the town of Alexandria.  Seized and taken in Execution and to be sold as the property of Robert Dean.

ALSO, by virtue of the Writs aforesaid, will be exposed to sale at the Court House in the Borough of Huntingdon, on Saturday the 28th instant, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon of that day.

A House and lot of ground on the northerly side of Mifflin street, in the Borough of Huntingdon, being 50 feet front and extending back 200 feet to Church street, bounded on the east by the estate of Charles Barnet, deceased, and on the West by Affrca's Lot, being No. -----, Seized and taken in Execution, and to be sold as the property of Stephen Carrol.

Also, A tract of 157 acres of Land more or less, in Shirley township, at Aughwick falls, in the river Juniata, joining lands of Daniel Seachrist, William Brown and others.  Seized and taken in execution, and to be sold as the property of John Holliday and Daniel McConaughy.

CAUTION.

The Woman's Democratic Club of Bellwood and Antis Township met in regular session Tues. evening Feb. 5th at the home of Mrs. Norman Reed with 15 members in attendance. First on the program of the evening was a delicious covered dish luncheon served by the hostess Mrs. Reed which was greatly enjoyed by all, then as one of the Club members, Mrs. Annie McGinnis, happened to have a birthday fall on this same date, all those present arose to the occasion by offering congratulations and presenting Mrs. McGinnis with many most useful and beautiful little gifts. This action on the part of the club was greatly appreciated by Mrs. McGinnis. This was followed by the transaction of the business of the evening which consisted of the election of officers to serve for the ensuing year, the results being Mrs. Charlotte Summers was elected President; Mrs. Laura Stewart, Vice President; Mrs. Bessie Cunningham, Secretary; Mrs. Gretta Miles, Treasurer and Mrs. Blanche Houston, Sergeant at Arms.

Stores Robbed Of Cash, Candy

Two local stores were burglarized last Friday night, February 8, at about midnight, with a small amount of cash and a box of candy being stolen by the thieves.

Entrance was gained into the A&P Store on Main street by going into the store's cellar and removing some floor boards. The loot there consisted of $10.70 and a box of candy. The loss was discovered by manager of the store Don St. John when he arrived for work on Saturday morning.

Woodhall's Store, also on Main street, was entered by breaking a window back of the store. After taking 31 one dollar bills, the intruders left by the front door.

In custody are a teenage Bellwood boy, who was apprehended in Altoona on Sunday by Chief of Police M T. Epler and is now being held in the detention home in Altoona pending decision in his case.

Also in custody is the boy's uncle, George Russel, 24, of 865 23rd street, Altoona. who is suspected of being an accomplice in the robberies.

He was taken into custody at his home by Chief Epler, and after a hearing before Squire Edgar McKinney, committed to jail in default of bond. Altoona police stated that Russell is a previous offender and has a police record.

The young boy, who claimed he received only $1.70 of the loot, will have judgement passed on him on Friday. Russell will be held for the next term of court.

Davis, Mr. - 1852

Ship Building.-- A new ship yard has recently been started in this town, by Mr. Daniel Foster.  It is located on the estate belonging to the heirs of the late Jonathan Luther, next south of H. H. Luther's rivet establishment.  Mr. F. had just laid the keel of the ship intended for the sperm whale fishery, to be commanded by Capt. William Martin, late of Millinoket.

Messrs. Chace & Davis have also laid the keel for a new ship in their yard.  We understand she is intended for a whaleman, but who is to command her or who are to be her owners, we are not informed.
