Phennicie, Eli, Miner
September 11, 1888, 5th District, Casselman Colliery, Somerset County.
Fatally injured by a fall of “horseback” while working in face of heading.  His back was broken and his body severely bruised, and although some hopes were entertained of his recovery, he died on the 13th.  At the time of my investigation several of his fellow miners spoke very highly of him as being a careful man and a good miner, having worked in this coal for years.  Age 52.  Married. Six orphans.
