B.A. Invitation Track Meet
Faculty Manager James J. Bender announced that the Eighth Annual Bellwood-Antis Invitation Track Meet will be held this yesr at the Bellwood-Antis Invitation Track urday <sic> April 27. The annual meet which has proven not only attractive to spectators but also one of the most outstanding in this section will be limited to B Class schools only. lt is thereby felt that this meet will do much for the development of Track in Class B schools.
As in the past a trophy will be awarded to the team winning the meet and ribbons will be awarded to the individual boys for the first five places in each event.
The following events will be held: high jump, broad jump, pole vault, shot put, discus and javelin. 100 yard dash, 220, half mile and mile. Mile relay and half mile relay.
The field events are scheduled to start promptly at 1:30 P.M. and the track events at 2:00 P.M.
Arrangements are being made to care for from 200 to 250 contestants.
Many of the officials will be drawn from the newly formed Blair County Track Officials Association although it has been estimated that there will be need for about 60 officials.
Invitations have been sent to the following schools: Roaring Spring, Williamsburg, Saxton-Liberty, South Fork, Claysburg, Black Lick Twp., nights <sic> . Reserved seats will be avail- <sic> port, Bigler Twp., Barnsboro, Smith Vocational, Spangler, Osceola Mills, Richland Twp., Adams Twp., Cresson Southmont, Beaverdale, Franklin, Conemaugh, Burnham, Carroltown, Curwensville, Boswell, Westmont, Vintondale, Armagh, Boliver, and Everett.
Last years meet was won by Huntingdon High School.
