Alexander, George - 1809

THIRTY DOLLARS REWARD.
DESERTED on Saturday evening, the eighteenth instant, the following men, privates in my company-- Stationed on Rose-Island, Harbour of Newport.

James Helton, born in Portsmouth, State of New Hampshire, 23 years of age, 5 feet 7 and a quarter inches high, light complexion, dark eyes, and dark hair, had on and carried away with him, a Sailor's round blue jacket, infantry pantaloons, uniform vest and hat, and several articles of infantry summer cloathing. <sic>

George Alexander, born in Lowas, Eng. 21 years of age 5 feet 9 inches high, light complexion, light eyes, and light hair.  Had on and carried away with him, a  Sailor's round blue jacket, infantry uniform vest and pantaloons, and several articles of infantry summer cloathing. <sic>

James Harlan, born in Philadelphia, State of Pennsylvania, 23 years of age, 5 feet 10 and a half inches high, dark complexion, dark eyes and dark hair had on and carried away with him,  Sailor's round blue jacket, infantry uniform pantaloons, and several articles of infantry summer Cloathing. <sic>

Whoever will apprehend the above named Deserters and deliver them to me, or to the commanding officer of any military post in the U. States, shall receive the above reward and all reasonable charges, or 10 dollars for either of them.
