Private Robert Berkstresser, son of Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Berkstresser of 701 East Fourth street, is stationed at Camp Edwards, Mass. He was graduated from Bellwood-Antis High school in the class of 1939. Upon his graduation he entered the Altoona school of welding and after graduation worked for two years as an electric welder for Westinghouse at Pittsburgh. Prior to his induction into the armed forces he played on the Bellwood-Antis football team for three years, and was an ardent supporter of basketball.
