Doyle, William J. C., Miner
February 9, 1889, 2nd District, West Newton Shaft Colliery, Westmoreland County.
This man, in company with another named H. Newman, had been cutting ice during the day and had been drinking some on the way home. Doyle walked over to the shaft, stating that he had some business there, and it was thought that he got bewildered and fell into the shaft, a distance of 80 feet. He was found the next morning by the fire boss, Robert Hall. Age 29, Married. Three orphans.
