Fitch, John, Miner
May 31, 1889, 1st District, Acme Colliery, Washington County.
Injured fatally by a fall of coal. Mr. Fitch and a son worked together at the time of the accident. While the deceased was at work, the son said “Father I hear something working;” the latter turned around from his work to come out, but before he could do so, the coal fell crushing him in such a manner that he only lived a short time after being taken out of the mine. Age 65. Married. Twelve children.
