Dr. John R. Cushing who practiced in South Butler and Georgiana for 14 years, was born in Milledgeville, GA in 1824. He moved to Butler Co. in 1857 and then moved to Upshaw Co., TX in 1871then to Dangerfield and to Texarkana where he died on Jan. 16th.
