Henry’s Birds Won.
The eighth race of the North Jeannette Hunting Pigeon Club, was from Terra Haute, Ind., and air line distance of 425 miles. Twelve birds were liberated at 6 o’clock, Tuesday morning, and the first arrival here was the blue-checkered hen, Lady, owned by Alf. Henry, at 7:55:05 p.m., being the only homed the same day.Major, owned by J. F. Stevenson, came in the next morning at 6 o’clock, followed by Queen, Henry, at 6:30; Blue Face, Jules Stassin, at 7:15. The birds had to face a head wind the entire distance. The next race from Vandalia, Illinois, an air line of 520 miles, on July 18.
