Seymour, Mrs. - 1881

Murder Most Foul.--
Lancaster was the scene of another horrible crime last week.  About 11 o’clock at night a ruffian by the name of Ed. Sanders broke into the house of Mrs. Seymour, who was up attending a sick woman, and used her so roughly that she died from fright and exhaustion in about an hour.  A man who was sleeping in a back room witnessed the deed, but was too cowardly to interfere, and, jumping out of the back window, fled the house.  Both men were arrested, and a Coroner’s jury brought in a verdict against Sanders of murder.  Sanders made no attempt to escape, and was found near the scene of his crime.
