Hon. J. W. Kahle, an old and respected citizen of Lineville, this county, died Thursday morning, aged 74 years. He was one of the pioneers in the iron business in this part of the State and for 15 years was manager of a furnace in Armstrong county for Samuel F. Plumer.
For the past 35 years he resided in Lineville. In 1878 he was elected to the Legislature. He leaves a wife, four sons and four daughters. Mr. Kahle was widely known and much respected.
The funeral services took place in the Evangelical church at Lineville, at 11 o’clock on Saturday afternoon, and was attended by a large number of friends. The services were conducted by Rev. J. J. Carmody and the following personal friends during his fatal illness, acted as pall bearers: A. L. Sigworth, James Ziegler, A. Byers, J. C. Betz, Solomon Beck and Daniel Detar.
